Autumn Color

We are not famous in our neck of the woods for autumn color. Our fall palette contains soft shades of gray, brown, gold, and the dark green of coast live oak leaves, as green and sharp as holly, without the red berries. Regardless, the kolkesplirren will be donning their masks in firruberry colors by All Saints Day at the latest, and will be wearing them till spring.

Both of these Geranium Lake Properties comics were unpublished, but the date on the panel above would have placed it in the middle of “A Quarrel with a Child of Motion”. My guess is that this is an unused design for a mask made by Alice Aroumbeyski, perhaps for Jack Loki to wear (as the Ghillippinyan) in the Parade of Taxonomies and Modes.

I imagine that these masks are impractical for wearing as part of a Halloween costume, so just for fun and relaxation, here are a couple of masks for you to download and color:
