Two poemsters

This past Sunday I went, for the first time, to the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. This intense sensory experience, plus a very nice specimen of Tillandsia xerographica (not an orchid) produced two visual poem posters (poemsters?):

  1. Excellent work, I love the bottom panel in particular. It has a very kaleidoscopic feel to it – did you use the leaves of the flowers for this one? All the best as ever Lin x

    • Yes, the Tillandsia xerographica has stiff leaves that narrow into curves and loops. Old well-grown specimens can have twisty leaves that look like scribbles or cursive writing, so you can guess why it has a name that means “dry writing”.
