  1. Strangely enough I see cassette tape, an old surgical syringe, wire security mesh and insects everywhere… but then I usually see insects in your work, or wires. Another great piece that pulls the viewer in lots of different directions simultaneously. Your consistently high standard of quality and prolific output astounds me with every post. All the best.

  2. When I was at the height of my pen-and-ink expression, I drew my figures wrapped in a lot of straps, tape, wire. (I wonder now if viewers of my work assumed I was into bondage because there were so many things tied up in my pictures.) I loved drawing all those lines. What I realize now, doing abstract work, for me as the artist it’s not all that important what the lines depict. My satisfaction always came from the shape of the black line on the white paper. And with abstract work, I am not burdened with content, I can leave that to the reader/viewer. And that gives me something I didn’t have before, I don’t know quite what to call it yet, but there is a sense of letting go.
