“Gagsgot skursonic” is a local colloquialism spoken in Whittlespear Beach, a town on the coast of California, approximately 145 miles south of Monterey.

Abstract comics are published here three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

  1. Another beautiful piece, there’s a strange kind of geometry to this one, I’m not quite sure why but it’s there. Any hint as to what ‘gagsgot skursonic’ actually means…

    • “Gagsgot skursonic” is a corruption of an English phrase. The first word is a better clue than the second. Whittlespear Beach is a fictional town, the setting of a novel called The Boy in the Yellow Leatherette Portmanteau. At different times in my life I have started novels but I have never written more than fragments. Eventually I accepted this as part of my process, and now I am satisfied to have a small collection of excerpts from imaginary books by imaginary authors. Yost, the ostensible creator of Geranium Lake Properties, has appeared as a fictional character in The Boy in the Yellow Leatherette Portmanteau.

      • It all sounds very intriguing, I enjoy reading shorts and fragments between novels. It’d be interesting to read some of your written work too. Best wishes.
